TOWNE SQUARE© Furnishings:

Founded in 1966 in the quiet, unhurried Texas hill country, the Towne Square Furniture Company has carefully established a nationwide reputation as an uncompromising, quality-conscious manufacturer of fine handcrafted traditional furniture. Inspired by the exquisitely constructed, century-old courthouse setting majestically in its own town square, the company's name clearly reflects its birthright as well as dedication to true quality.

And, through the years, the company's consistent pride of craftsmanship has been guided by its founder's simple yet meaningful philosophy that "nobody remembers how fast something is achieved, only how well."

Old Fashioned Handcrafted Quality

In spite of our modern culture's myriad of here-today, gone-tomorrow synthetic products, Towne Square believes its customers are looking for something of more permanence and greater value, including furniture that is built to last and truly stand the test of time. This concern best explains Towne Square's extraordinary attention to detail and complete commitment to the "family heirloom" quality it builds into its furniture.

That's why every piece of furniture that leaves Towne Square's manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, Texas is made from 100% solid U.S. hardwoods and American made materials and is authentically handcrafted: hand sanded, hand assembled, handfinished, hand balanced, hand inspected and hand packed.  Finally, Towne Square furniture is even hand delivered by its own drivers in company-owned trucks to assure arrival at its destination in perfect ready-to-use condition.

Quality Construction Starts With Superior U.S. Hardwoods

The built-in quality of Towne Square furniture starts with the lumber from which it is constructed: only premium #1 kiln-dried solid U.S. hardwoods (no plywoods for Towne Square), including Alderwoods from the Pacific Northwest and Red Oaks from Upper Peninsula of Michigan and other lumber producing states.  Too expensive for homebuilders but popular with custom kitchen cabinet craftsmen, these fine, quality U.S. hardwoods'enduring strength, rich appearance and distinctive grains and character marks contribute importantly to the natural warmth, lasting beauty and true value of every piece of Towne Square furniture.

Continuous Hand Inspected Quality Control Manufacturing

Throughout Towne Square's controlled manufacturing process, every hardwood part is hand sanded at least five different times by five different craftsmen. According to Towne Square's exacting quality control standards, that means each part is also hand inspected on at least five separate occasions before it is permitted to become a piece of Towne Square furniture.

Careful Hand Assembly Craftsmanship

Each piece of Towne Square furniture is carefully assembled by just one craftsman - all by hand and not a glue gun in sight. And even before a spindle and dowell is pounded into place, each hole is checked to be certain it is a fraction of an inch smaller in diameter to achieve a more solid, lasting hardwood-to-hardwood fit.

Dip-Staining & Sealing Enhance Quality

The entire wood frame of each piece of Towne Square furniture remains unfinished until it is fully assembled. At that time, it is totally dip-stained, not merely sprayed, with custom-mixed wood stains to ensure total coverage. Then after hand rubbing, each frame is hand sprayed with a special sanding scaler to lock all moisture into the wood, eliminating potential swelling or shrinking. This means no arm post, back post or spindle in any piece of Towne Square furniture will ever crack or loosen under ordinary usage.

Meticulous Hand Finishing Assures Lasting Beauty & Value

After staining and sealing, each piece of Towne Square furniture is hand sanded (even the tiny spindle grooves) to highlight the wood's natural grain and give it a smooth-as-glass luster. Then it receives two coats of lacquer finish, allowing the first coat to cure before the final coat is applied which achieves what is clearly the finest of all furniture wood finishes.

Premium No-Sag Springs; Tailored Hand Sewn Cushions

Every Towne Square chair and loveseat uses a minimum of 4 premium no-sag springs covered and finished with attractive selfdecking. Hand sewn by experienced Towne Square tailors using only the finest grade of fabrics from America's leading mills, every cushion is carefully designed and constructed to keep its stylish shape. Even the buttons are hand tied back-to-back. And each cushion is fully reversible for longer wear and greater comfort.

Towne Square's most popular furniture line is its traditionally styled Glider Rockers, an original Towne Square furniture creation.  Featuring both chairs and loveseats and handcrafted from 100% American made materials, Towne Square Glider Rockers uniquely combine the back-and-forth movement of an old fashioned rocking chair or platform rocker with the additional comfort of the smooth to-and-fro gliding motion of a swing. The result is a beautifully handcrafted Glider Rocker with unmatched comfort, balance and stability.
